Francesco Starace said that Enel would apply for the next tenders regarding energy production from renewable sources recently announced in Russia. He added that the Group was already involved in a tender regarding wind energy. Furthermore, Starace has signed a cooperation agreement with Rosseti, a Russian company providing energy supply and transmission. The “Memorandum of Understanding” agreement is a network digitization project. Francesco Starace made clear that its aim is to share information, best practice, and technological solutions through a digitized system improving efficiency, complementary services, and a reduction in the cost of Russian electricity.
As he remarked, network digitization is “fundamental for our global strategy, which aims especially at smart counters, network automation, and electric mobility.” He stressed that the project “will pave the way for new studies on smart grid management potential, a sector in which Enel definitely stands out”.
Francesco Starace is certain that this cooperation will bring positive results: “Considering our experience in this sector, we will help the Russian network digitize.”
